The project Art and Environment is an attempt to arouse interest on how we relate to the use of materials. The artist considers ‘junk’ simply as workable material with endless possibilities. This approach also reveals how ideologies such as industrialization and consumerism erode our sense of belonging to our environment.
By creating an awareness of the alienation which results from a purely utilitarian concern, the attention shifts towards restoring our sense of connectivity to our surroundings. A work of art, through the use of junk material, is a reminder of what essentially constitutes the individual’s profound identity.
