I’ve always been fascinated by Braque’s birds in flight and was inspired to pay homage to his work by creating a kind of nuptial dance that connects the earth and the sky as birds are the only creatures at ease in this in-between.
I used monochrome sisal string fibre to emphasize the movement, the materiality and leaving the inner spaces empty to make the subject more ethereal
