Copy Paste

Copy Paste

This everyday expression seems to be new in our wired age. Yet taking a closer look copy paste does have connotations of something not original. In this work I question the existence of originality, an expression which only entered the art jargon in the late 19th Century. Using the traditional technique of weaving I prepared the surface on which to copy paste shapes and forms in a playful way. I used sisal fibre to contrast with the saturated colours of synthetic fibre from discarded produce bags.
